MEX - BajaCopperOur Baja and Copper Canyon motorcycle tour is a real riding vacation. From the magnificent Copper Canyon train ride to the beaches of the Baja Peninsula this tour can be summed up in one word...FUN!

The Baja & Copper Canyon Tour is on paved roads throughout. This is a favourite with couples, bringing together the adventure of foreign touring, the romance of beachside resorts, the fascination of encountering native indigenous peoples, the charm of Colonial Mexico and the awesome land feature of the Copper Canyon. Starting on the mainland of Mexico, riders will reach the Baja Peninsula by way of overnight ferry from Mazatlan to La Paz. Each day riders can look forward to a new experience. An added bonus during the months of January and February is a guided excursion for an up close look at the grey whales. This is a tour with balance and moderate pace, lending to the holiday nature of the ride. Early bookings recommended.

  • Train ride. You will experience the true treasure of the Sierra Madres aboard the Chihuahua al Pacifico train. With bikes safely stored in El Fuerte, we overnight on the Copper Canyon rim with time to enjoy the scenery and learn of the primitive Tarahumara Indians that inhabit the region.
  • Indian villages. There are touches of Spain on the western slopes of the Sierra Madres. Alamos and El Fuerte once reigned as Colonial outposts in the Old World. It was not an easy conquest in this territory of the legendary Yaqui and Mayo Indians known as valiant fighters who stubbornly resisted the Conquistadors. Today you find these remote villages a delightful connection with Mexico’s deep heritage.
  • Ferry. Whether the ferry is a highlight it is debatable. Let’s just say it is an “experience” as this is no Love Boat. But being on the open sea, watching the porpoises dance in the waves and the view of sun rising over the rocky horizon of the Baja is added value. You will have cabins on board and the bikes will be safe and secure in the hold of the vessel.
  • Baja still remains primitive for much of it’s nearly one thousand miles of peninsula, a mix of Mexico, Californian’s playground and resort glitter. Cabo San Lucas is no longer a sleepy little dirt street fishing village. But you can still find a lonely beach, some mouth watering fish tacos for a bargain and the mirror like views of the tranquil Sea of Cortez are great from the seat of a motorcycle.
  • Whale watching. In season (January – March) we get close enough to pet a grey whale. Migrating from the Bering Sea, thousands of these creatures settle in for the winter off the Pacific shores of Baja.
