Itinerary

Day 1 Depart UK. We will meet you at San Jose airport and transfer to the Hotel Pico Blanco located in Escazu, the best and most modern area of Costa Rica. Depending on your time of arrival, you can take the opportunity to visit the Multiplaza Mall, which is within walking distance of the hotel. Good hydration is recommended today in preparation for your ride.

DAY 2 San Jose - Volcan Turrialba. Today we take a very scenic ride in cool temperatures at altitudes of 1000-3000 m. Lots of single trails through old pine and cloud forests, we even get to ride inside an old volcano (extinguished of course!). We ride different types of terrain, grass trails, sandy trails, rocky trails and volcanic ash terrain.Costa Rica volcano 1 2007 H-CTravel

DAY 3 Volcan Turrialba - Escazu (west San Jose). Today we climb to Volcan Irazu National Park at 3900 m. From there we take a narrow single volcanic trail downhill that joins some forests before arriving for lunch to Cartago. From there we take wider trails to the mountain area in Escazu.

DAY 4 Escazu - Jaco Beach. A change today, with very mountainous riding, forest trails with many river crossings and unusual trails with high berms. We arrive at Santa Marta for lunch, and from there we take the 'airplane trail' (above the clouds) to Carara National Park. Here we ride through rainforest trails that are naturally formed as a motocross track that runs for 20 miles, leaving us close to our overnight stop at Jaco Beach.

DAY 5 Jaco Beach, rest day. This is a free day to rest after the ride or the good nightlife Jaco has offered you the night before. You can enjoy the many activities that Jaco offers, just relaxing on the beach and taking it easy, taking one of the many tours offered such as the crocodile safari, horseback riding, scuba diving, sport fishing, snorkelling, surfing, boogie boarding, a waterfall hike, national reserve natural tours, etc. There is also the option of riding bikes. Jaco has a good enduro loop that is part of the classic 2 day Jaco Beach Enduro Race..tn_Costa Rica Jaco Beach 2007 H-C Travel

tn_Costa Rica bridge 2007 H-C TravelDAY 6 Jaco - San Jose. Leaving Jaco Beach on a different route, first we ride a part of the classic 2-day enduro trails that start our climb towards San Jose. Again we ride through rainforest trails with many river and stream crossings, taking us to Puriscal for lunch. From there we take the scenic skyline trail to Colon City. Our ride finishes by climbing the trails of Colon towards San Jose. The trails have many berms on the way up, making the fast single trail climb a lot of fun and a proven favourite of past customers.

DAY 7 San Jose, free day. Take one of the many tours available, the most recommended and almost a must is white-water rafting, a great way to finish an exciting vacation. Or the canopy tour, the Aerial Rainforest Tram, Arenal Lake and volcano, coffee tour, Poas volcano tour and many more.

DAY 8 Depart San Jose. We transfer you from our hotel to the airport for your flight back. Alternatively, if you want to stay longer, then we will arrange white-water rafting, a day’s offroad riding, or take you back to Jaco Beach for a few days’ serious R&R on the Pacific coast.

DAY 9 Arrive UK.
