1. Custom tours. In addition to our regular tours, custom tours, tours of longer or shorter duration, may be run if requested by groups of 6 or more riders.
2. Budget tours. We are able to offer budget versions of all tours, using lower grade accommodation and exclude some excursions.
3. Companions. We encourage and welcome the participation of riders' companions. For non-riding participants who wish to join the group, special 4-WD vehicles can be provided.
4. Participation. All tours require a minimum of 6 participants, riders and/or non-riders. If the minimum number has not been reached 60 days before departure day, the tour will be postponed. In such an event, tour deposits will be refunded.
5. Riding Gear. No riding gear is provided, so please bring your own. You must wear a helmet meeting European or US regulatory standards (off-road full coverage type recommended). Bring goggles (incl. spare lenses including dark lenses), dust mask, enduro boots, light enduro gloves, warm waterproof gloves, off-road jacket and pants (Goretex material preferably), rain suit (for extra weather protection), kidney belt, elbow and knee protection, 1-litre plastic water container. A small back pack or fanny pack is useful for cameras, sunglasses, spare change, and all sort of small items.
6. Climate and Clothing. Weather conditions will change frequently and fast, especially when travelling between different ecosystems. Tours pass from sea level to over 4000 m (13,000 ft). Daytime temperatures will range from 5 to 30°C (40-86°F). It is common to find rainstorms in the mountain and jungle areas in the rainy season (December - March), but it is possible to find them in other months. We recommend you bring clothing suitable for both warm and cool climates, and dress up in layers. Also bring a swimsuit and a good pair of trainers or walking shoes. Even though we spend the nights in hotels, we suggest that participants with the need for extra warmth at night should bring a small sleeping bag. Although luggage is protected with a tarpaulin when transported on our open bed support vehicle, you should pack your gear against rain and dust conditions.
7. Camera and Film. We suggest you bring a small digital camera, film is not very easy to find outside Lima or Cusco. Small cameras will easily fit inside your bumbag or jacket pocket.
8. Luggage. Your luggage should comprise two bags. One bag should carry your riding gear. The second bag should be a mid-size sports bag that travels in the support vehicle. Due to space limitations, try to bring soft luggage.
9. Physical Condition. As we will be travelling through variable terrain conditions, and experiencing rapid geographical and climatic changes, you should be in good general physical condition. Off-road riding experience is essential, especially for the soft, sandy or muddy areas. We have selected routes that should not represent any problems to most 'average' off-road riders, except on the Inca Select tour, which requires more technical ability.
10. Documents. Your passport, travel insurance and motorcycle driving license are needed at all times. You should carry these in an inside pocket of your enduro jacket. Your passport is your official identification document. Some riders may need a visa to enter Peru (not required for N. American or EU citizens).
11. Tourbook. A tourbook including recommendations and descriptions of each tour will be provided before the beginning of the tour. The most important archaeological, historical and geographical attractions visited will be described. Participants will have the chance to discuss and ask about the next day's ride at each briefing.
12. Briefings. Daily itineraries will be discussed the night before each ride. All participants must attend the briefings. Important information will be given regarding safety, technical tips, terrain information, time and distances travelled and special scenery, among many other topics. This is your opportunity to ask questions and satisfy yourself that you are fully prepared for the next day.
