Silk Road expedition, 23 May – 12 June 2012
Thank you for your interest in our Silk Road Tibetan adventure. We’ve now finalised our itinerary as much as is possible, given below, and I’d like to invite you to join us on this unique biking adventure.
Your guides will be: Eric Moffat, Alam Hussein, Yugyal and Dawa (our Tibetan guide)
The bikes will be Enfield 500 Bullets, with some Chinese bikes available as well (sorry, the KTMs didn’t materialise)
Flights can be from anywhere, we can either connect with our direct London flights or meet you in Beijing.
The tour includes all accommodation on a twinshare basis, all meals, group entrance fees to monuments, etc, road tolls, London – Beijing direct flights (please call for a quote from other airports, upgrades, or price without international flights), domestic Chinese/Tibetan flights, local transfers, support vehicles, First Aid kit
Extra tour costs will be: fuel $150, alcoholic drinks, souvenirs, camera fees, tips

See the Great Lakes by motorcycle
Our first new tour, Superior Lake Superior, is a ride round the shore of the World’s largest freshwater lake, Lake Superior. For bikers looking for something quite different, stimulating and a little bit challenging, this really is the great outdoors - your next ride!
Our 2-week tour starts and ends in Thunder Bay, crosses over into the USA taking in Duluth, once home to a certain Bob Dylan, the scenic and sandy south shore, with its pretty villages and islands, before returning to Canada near Sault Ste Marie with its spectacular canal joining Lake Superior to Lake Huron, the Wilderness train and the bush plane museum. The tour then continues around the wild, rugged north shore, with some great dirt trails and natural wonders before finishing in Thunder Bay.
Our bikes are Kawasaki KLR650s, equally at home on our off-tarmac detours as on the road.
Our accommodation is a mix of great hotels and guesthouses, guaranteeing a warm welcome and friendly advice.

Our second new tour, Great Lakes Vistas, is an altogether different proposition. This 2-week tour is all about history and scenery. Starting in Kingston, Ontario, you cross into the USA to visit Sackets Harbor, before winding along country roads to the famous Watkins Glen, on to Niagara Falls and back into Canada and Lake Erie. You then head north to Lake Huron, take the ferry to the first nation settlements of Georgian Bay, before returning to Kingston via the beautiful Algonquin National Park and historic Ottawa.
Our bikes are Harley-Davidsons, just perfect for taking in all this beauty and history.

Travel insurance. Don't forget, whatever your summer biking plans, our own travel insurance is there for you. We offer annual policies, or single trip policies for up to 1 year. ESTA charges
Offroad news
ESTA charges. If you are planning a trip to the USA in the not too distant future, or have already booked a tour, then applying for your ESTA now costs $14 (about £9). Go to www.london.usembassy.gov, and click on the ESTA panel on the right of the screen for information and to apply.
Offroad. And while on the subject of travel insurance, please remember that if you ride with an unlicensed tour operator then our emergency and medical cover will not apply if you have an accident while riding on an adventure or offroad tour.
