Itinerary

DAY 1 Arrive Vancouver. We will transfer you by shuttle to our tour hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to explore the city highlights. Sheraton Four Points.

DAY 2 Vancouver. After breakfast we go to collect our motorcycles. We’ll take an orientation ride around Vancouver, taking in Stanley Park and the main city sights.

DAY 3 Vancouver – Kamloops. We leave the city bright and early and follow the ‘Gold rush trail’ of the late 1800', through the famous Fraser River Canyon from Hope to Cache Creek with stops at the Hope tunnels, Hell's Gate Canyon, Spence’s Bridge and Cache Creek before heading east through semi-desert (!) on the Trans-Canada Highway to our hotel in Kamloops.

DAY 4 Kamloops - Mt. Robson. We head north following the Thompson River and the Canadian National Railway line. This is wild, wild country and gently sweeping highways, with plenty of wildlife and spectacular scenery. We’ll visit Helmcken Falls, the highest waterfall in north America on the way through Clearwater, a great place to break our ride. Our accommodation is a fantastic location right at the foot of Mt Robson, the largest peak in the Canadian Rockies. Valemount.

DAY 5 Mt Robson – Banff. After a hearty breakfast we head out east, first stop, Jasper. Then heading south on the Icefields Parkway, planned stops will be at Athabasca Falls, The Columbia Ice Fields and Saskatchewan River Crossing. At the Icefields, you can take advantage of a tour on the ice. This is where the headwaters of the Bow, Columbia, Athabasca and Saskatchewan Rivers are formed and flow in four directions. We’ll take a packed lunch to maximise our outdoor enjoyment. And if time allows we’ll visit picturesque Peyto Lake. At the end of the day, we spend the night in our favourite hotel in Banff.

DAY 6 Banff – Revelstoke. Westward ho! After we leave Banff and stop in at world famous Lake Louise, the road takes us through the Kicking Horse Pass and over the Purcell mountain range. A short detour off the highway will take us to Takkakaw Falls, the second highest waterfall in North America. Once again, this part of the country affords the viewing of such wildlife as bear, moose, elk, mountain goats and Rocky Mountain big horned sheep. Continuing west to Golden and over the Rogers Pass, we arrive in the railway town of Revelstoke for the evening. Regent Inn.

DAY 7 Revelstoke - Ainsworth Hot Springs. Today is Lakes Day! Wonderful roads and a scenic ferry crossing. Leaving The Regent Inn we wind our ay south to Shelter Bay. Here we board the free ferry across to Galena Bay. After disembarking, we continue south to Nakusp for lunch. Riding through New Denver we head for the old Galena mining town of Sandon with its museum (there’s a gravel road there, but it is well worth the effort). After coming back to the paved highway, we continue to Kaslo, on the banks of Kootenay Lake, and follow the lakeside road to Ainsworth Hot Springs. This is one of our favourite spots on the tour and the evening can be spent relaxing in the natural hot springs, enjoy a wonderful meal and fantastic views across Kootenay Lake.

DAY 8 Ainsworth – Kelowna. From the Kootenays to the Okanagan. Leaving Ainsworth we continue on the lakeside road to Nelson, a lovely town used in several films, perhaps most notably Roxanne with Steve Martin – you’ll recognise the fire station!). We follow the spillways of the Kootenay River as it flows south and west through several dams and power generation plants. Over the Monashee mountain range after Castlegar we head into Border country at Grand Forks. At this point, we are parallel to the US border and eventually head north and west on one of the most incredible motorcycling roads imaginable. In Kelowna, the heart of British Columbia's fruit growing region, we'll stay at another lakeside resort

DAY 9 Kelowna – Whistler. So, you say you wanted to ride? On our last full day of riding, we cover the longest distance, over three more mountain ranges and valleys, from the Okanagan to the coast and the world class resort of Whistler. At this time of year, even though skiing isn't on, there is plenty to see and do in Whistler. On the way, you'll experience thrills of riding you could not have imagined on roads that have in some cases only recently been paved. In Whistler, we stay in the heart of the village.

DAY 10 Whistler – Vancouver. Since all good things must come to an end, we'll take you on the Sea to Sky Highway into the city of Vancouver with some interesting side trips along the way. After returning your motorcycle this afternoon, it’s time to wind down and have a night on the town.

DAY 11 Depart Vancouver. This morning and the rest of the day is yours until your flight. We give you a free trolley pass as there’s probably still time today for more sightseeing before your flight home.
